Me neither. This is my journey of self-acceptance, confidence, and redefining what true beauty means in an age where social media dictates what's 'nice' and what's not.
Alison, thanks so much for your lovely msg. Fab to see you are also a big Elemis fan. Do you use any other apart from those two. The Prada scent is very cute, fresh and invigorating. Believe it or not it's actually the scent I spray on b4 I go out onto the TV set, to make me feel more alive!
Hi Marv, another great newsletter and love the photos 👏. Interesting that you use the two Elemis beauty products I use on a daily basis ☺️. Haven’t smelt that Prada perfume so going to hunt that out! Keep doing the newsletter- really enjoying it xx
Marverine this is a brilliant newsletter. I resonated on so many points. Especially growing up we only saw the same faces in the magazines (which I loved - especially Just Seventeen, ha!).
But now I am pleased we have diverse array of magazines and people of colour on TV now (still not enough).
This has been the best newsletter I have read in ages - thank you!
Well done to see you in the Sainsbury magazine - love it!
thanks so much, Angela. and it's so kind of you to share you read and felt a connection with some of what I wrote. The pressure to have a certain look was real, and it made you feel so low when you felt you could never attain it because of who you really are. I love seeing lots of my friends excelling in TV and elsewhere. When I was coming up as a reporter and newsreader it was a lonely place. Progress is happening! And thanks re Sainsburys - hope you enjoyed that little exclusive
I have just read your post whilst I am under the hair dryer at my lovely hairdressers 'Riva International Hair Design', on the Warwick Road, Birmingham. This is my treat before returning to work from having six weeks off.
I also walk alongside my husband and dog usually along the canals and up to Bournville through Cadbury.
I also still use 'Mary Kay', 💓.
I will hopefully get to read your Sainsbury's article.
