…But not for reasons you might think. Because I definitely have NOT won The Lottery.
Now before I get to the money story, let me fill you in on this week’s shenanigans.
Car business
Has your car ever broke down on a busy carriageway? Mine did on Wednesday. And it was a shocker. But I kept calm and documented it on Instagram! 🤣
Thankfully my darling hubby came to wait with me, and I am fetching it from the garage as you read this!
Drinking beer again, were you, Marv?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on the last in my mini-series for Alan Titchmarsh’s Love Your Weekend show on ITV. I’ve been visiting breweries! YAY.
The latest aired last Sunday morning and I’m super-proud of it. The production team say they’d love to do more with me, so fingers crossed, eh?
Get me out of here!
Now not to be braggy, but I'm packing for not one, but TWO holidays, in the space of a month. Sunshine here, I come.
[HEALTH WARNING: my social media will be filled with me drinking cocktails and partying]
But it’s taken a good 20 years to get to this point. To get straight with money.
20 years of figuring it out, stumbling around, making monumental mistakes, changing jobs and careers, and finally finding my financial feet.
So yes, these holidays? I've right royally hustled my backside off for them.
But let me tell you it wasn't always jet-setting and vacation planning. There were years of low-paid jobs, months where the end seemed further away than the beginning, and a savings account that was more theory than practice.
Those 3am money worries? Waking up in a sweat in the middle of the night? Believe you me, I know them intimately.
This week at GMB, I delivered the sobering Breaking News about the unemployment rate. 131,00 fewer jobs in the economy. Although we’ve just had what many are considering is a promising period of economic growth.
But as those unemployment figures rolled across my autocue, I was thinking about everyone out there feeling that pit in their stomach, wondering how they'll make ends meet.
And if you’re in that position right now, I want you to know something important: things can and will get better.
Your path might look different than you expected – mine certainly did. My journey into journalism wasn't straightforward, but each step taught me something valuable about resilience and reinvention.
While you're figuring out your next career move, consider what skills you already have that could generate income on the side.
I’ve just dropped the first of a video series of ‘quick takes’ about the best way to get started if you’re looking to change jobs or careers, with some personal ideas and strategies.
And I’ve designed a killer toolkit to help anyone revamp their CV, save time and ‘pack a punch’ in interviews.
The road to financial stability isn't always straight for everyone.
Sometimes it's a winding path with unexpected views. But I promise you this – the journey is worth it. So whatever you're facing right now, please know that you're not alone.
Your moments of struggle matter to me because I've lived them too. But I do believe anything is possible for you.
And if you think anyone you know would like 1:1 Coaching with me to help them through tough times. Ping them this link.
Have a lovely weekend. Make sure you get some sun, rest and self-care!
Until next time, peace, luv and hugs
Marv

HELLO Nav So sorry to hear you are feeling very low. For now please lean on as many free resources as you can. Many listed here: https://www.mentalhealth.org.uk/explore-mental-health/get-help. I'm away for a while but will be releasing Discovery Calls for June in the coming weeks. I'll let you know once I get those organised, ok?
I’m so not sure whether reading this post Marv is my personal call to action! I’m so low and despondent at the moment, the walls really feel like they’re closing in on me! I looked at your coaching calendar for the 15 mins chat and unable to select a date in this month May 2025. What do I do? No options to access the mint of June. Thank you x💚x
